This project has helped 50 people with mental health conditions in Oxfordshire to receive tailored support in their existing business or help in starting their own businesses, social firms and co-operatives.
The support they received was designed to be flexible. After participants’ needs were assessed they were offered mentoring, training, advice and hands-on support to get them started. This support continued to help them get on their feet as they started their enterprises.
Partner organisations involved alongside Co-operative Futures were Business Link Solutions, RESTORE, East Oxford Action, and Oxfordshire Business Enterprises
This project was funded by the Phoenix Fund, the £177m DTI programme set up to help tackle social exclusion by encouraging entrepreneurship, and ran from April 2005 until September 2006.
