Alliance of Communities and Enterprise (ACE) Project

The Alliance of Communities and Enterprise (ACE) was a European EQUAL funded programme. It ran from October 2001 until November 2005 and Co-operative Futures was the lead co-ordinating partner.

Over 40 separate projects contributed to the programme. Its purpose was to develop a more positive policy environment for the social enterprise sector in Gloucestershire and test new methods of furthering enterprise development throughout the social economy. The outcomes included dialogue with public sector procurement professionals about contracting with Social Enterprises more, and supporting the voluntary and community sector to become more enterprising.

To disseminate the programmes findings, 11 summaries of extensive research projects have been published, along with 17 feasibility studies of potential social enterprises. For more details please email info@co-operativefutures.coop
